Oregon Living 2022 – Blog #29 – Leaving Our Rally, A Little Procedure & Recuperation/Caregiving

Sunday, July 17th., 2022…… We had picked up a little last night and I loaded up some stuff in the truck, so we only had a little bit to do this morning. We brought the truck in and hooked up. I had an easy path out. Yaay!  We got the bikes and the dogs loaded and we were on the road and home before 10:00am. Of course, I needed to get everything unloaded and put away before I was ready to say, “I’m done!’ Once we were, I was! I spent the rest of the day catching up on many taped races. Still have more to go!

Monday, July 18th., 2022…… Cathye has her eye surgery tomorrow. They don’t know the exact check-in time until the day before so while we were out to breakfast this morning, they called and told her to be there at 11:15. I also needed to leave the garage doors open so the pest control guy could do his job. Turns out he came while we were out! Cool!  The rest of the day was spent on a few tasks – grocery shopping, working on the blog, and working on some sprinkler head repairs.  I had several flowerbed sprinklers that were old and brittle and had cracked and/or were clogged, so they needed to be changed out. I also had two lawn risers that were working but not oscillating, so they were replaced as well. That would only be for the main lawn area. I still have work to do on the secondary system which is on the other side of the driveway. But at least the main system is good to go now.

Tuesday, July 19th., 2022…… Cathye’s eye surgery is later in the morning so I went back out and spent a few minutes on the risers around the back porch. They were dug up a few months ago and left loose in the ground. While they still work, I needed to disconnect them because they weren’t doing anything except flooding the area. I capped those and was done working for the day. It was time to head off to Eugene for surgery. Cathye had decided many years ago that she wanted to have her eyelids corrected. They are both ‘droopy’ and while they cause no medical issues, her ophthalmologist has told her she has to work harder than normal to open her eyes fully. They can correct this with a ½ hour procedure where they remove some skin from the eyelids and suture back so the eyes are more open at rest. They say only a few weeks recovery time and she wanted to do this. So, today is the day! I went in with her but left to walk through the local shops down the street but came back and waited. She was in and out in an hour, which included recovery time. They gave her a sheet of instructions for home care and phoned in some pain meds and we were off. Frozen peas and carrots over the eyes every hour for 20 minutes for the first two days. By the time we got home she wanted the pain meds so off I went. It is Tylenol w/codeine and pretty quickly took the edge off and she was able to relax. After a few hours, we noticed the swelling and the bruises which they said were normal and will likely darken tomorrow and then gradually go away after a few days. I took a pic before…

And they took one in recovery after….

And I took one of her relaxing with the ice bags...

We expect to see more swelling tomorrow but she is regimented and will continue the process to hopefully lessen the recovery time. The good thing is that she said on the way home that it’s a lot less effort to open her eyes fully now! That’s what we wanted!  I made us chicken and black bean burritos for dinner. Now this is one recipe I have in my arsenal from many years ago and Cathye has never had until now. She really liked it! I have one more planned that I can made easily enough. I also have to make another ‘death by chocolate’ for a party on Saturday afternoon. So, we had previously gone shopping and have all of the ingredients for all of those three dishes. So, I’m happy about that!

Wednesday, July 20th., 2022……  They want her elevated so having the adjustable bed worked perfectly last night!  But, as expected, there is more color and more swelling so we are back to ice bags. But she says there is a lot less pain, especially when she stays put! So, I have to watch her closely and keep her immobile! Later, Corey and Brittany brought Brandon and Lilly over for a quick visit. That allowed me to go run some errands. I wanted to go catch a sale at Office Max. They have an office chair I wanted so I drove over to Corvallis for that. I also made a stop at Lowes and got an attachment for my pressure washer. When I got home, Cathye was resting comfortably, with Jama by her side! I made us leftover burritos and we settled in and watched tv until bedtime.

Thursday, July 21st., 2022……  Looking much better this morning!

The swelling is still there and there is discoloration, but for the most part, she is not in too much pain. We have nothing on the schedule so she can relax and enjoy the day. Problem is she is so bored!  She is not used to being inactive and wants to get up and do something!   “Let’s go walk the steps at the high school! We need to get ready for our hike up Diamond Head!”  Not so fast, sweetie!  The doctor said you are not allowed any exercise for 7-10 days! So, we hang around the house and she busies herself by making notes about things to do when she can get going again.  Tonight, I made us Squiggly Noodle Casserole. Again, she likes it!  Another nice quiet evening of tv programs and an early night.

Friday, July 22nd., 2022…… Waayy better today!

The weather has been extremely hot these last few days, with more of the same starting again on Sunday. But it is supposed to be a little overcast and cloudy and cooler today. So, that means that today is my mowing day. Of course, Cathye is not allowed to do any of that work yet, so I planned on doing it myself. Penny has been checking in on Cathye these last few days and knew I was going to mow, and volunteered to come over. I gassed up the mowers and started out before she got here. I was able to finish up the yard and then went out and helped her mow the field grass. We made quick work of it and got everything cleaned up and put away in a couple of hours. I made the brownies and pudding and got those in the fridge, ready for tomorrow.

Saturday, July 23rd., 2022……   Penny and Cherrelyn have had my truck and were running some more errands, moving more small furniture, including her desk and chair, to Cherrelyn’s place, now that she has her internet set up there. They brought the truck back, along with some excess cardboard that I volunteered to cut up and put in my recycle. But not today! I had to assemble the ingredients for my DBC and get it into a trifle dish and in the fridge to chill. We set out with the dogs around noon.  David and Oma Lea live up in the foothills just west of Philomath (Corvallis area). Their place is gorgeous and we arrived and found the gardens in full bloom!  I thought Cathye took pics but I was wrong.  Anyway, they had asked us to bring the pups to meet their new dog. They recently had adopted Abby, a Golden/Pyrenees mix, that they found abandoned, and after a very conscientious effort to find an owner, which was in vain, now have welcomed her into their life. She is a sweet girl and she and Rylee hit it off and had a lot of fun playing and exploring the property. Not so much for Jama, who did not like her getting too close to Cathye while she was on her lap. It was on and I had to pull Abby off of Jama. No harm done though, and we were able to keep them calm the rest of the visit. The other couple that was coming had cancelled but no worries. We had a nice visit meal and they enjoyed my dessert. We headed home with a pretty empty trifle dish!  When we made the drive back home, Cathye said that the day had taken a lot out of her and she needed to rest her eyes and take a pain pill. She slept and I headed off to my room to watch the Tour and a few Nascar and Motocross races, before checking back in on her. The rest helped and she was feeling better. She realizes that she is not a miracle healer and will need to reel it in a bit, at least for the next few days anyway! We ate leftovers and retired around 10:00pm after a fun, but tiring day!

Oregon Living 2022 – Blog #28 – Lawn Work, Birthday Dinner, & Our Vintage Rally!

Sunday, July 10th., 2022……  Today was lawn mowing day!  After breakfast, Cathye headed off to church and I went out and got out three of the mowers and topped off the gas in them. Penny came by around 11:30am and we started out. It only took about 2 hours from start to finish. Next up is the ‘west 40’ field grass. I have the guy coming on Saturday to do that. I will need to use the zero turn and make a pass around the perimeter of the field. If I do it, I can get closer to the fence lines.  But, with all of the high brush out there, it will be a task!  Once we got everything washed, I left them to dry and came in to rest for the day.

Monday, July 11th., 2022…… Today would have been Jeff’s 52nd birthday. We will be going out later with Penny and Cherrelyn to have dinner and a drink in his honor. First up for me was a dental appointment. Today was just a cleaning. Since my appointment was at 7:30am I got that done and stopped and got breakfast and brought it home.

Tuesday, July 12th., 2022…… The only thing on my agenda today was both of us had haircuts. We went off and got those done and came back to do a little more prep on the trailer. We will be heading a whole 12 miles down to Brownsville tomorrow. We want to check-in and get the trailer parked in a nice shady spot but we won’t stay in it that first night. I hooked up the truck and we were done for the day.

Wednesday, July 13th., 2022……  Cathye headed off to SHEM and I finished loading up the trailer and my truck. When she got back, she jumped in her truck and I followed her in mine and we drove down to Pioneer Park.  While she checked in, I scoped out the available spots. She chose one that was really easy for me to back her trailer in to and we got everything unloaded and set out in quick order. This was a shot before we got the awning up.

We hung around for a bit, then headed back home for the day.  I decided to get the mower out and run it around the fence line. Boy, was that a task! It would have been rough enough just to get through the weeds, but since they were way overgrown, I was out of my league!  Plus, I had to maneuver around the wild blackberry bushes (and the thorns!). I had set up the mower without the bags so they wouldn’t clog, but it was just too thick. So, I disconnected everything and set out again. This time I could make it all around without too much trouble.  I came in and rested and planned out tomorrow. The next trip down tomorrow would be the bikes and the dogs and the food. After getting all of that together, we drove over to The Depot in Albany and had a nice seafood dinner.

Thursday, July 14th., 2022……  We decided to take two trips down this morning. The first one was in the Acadia with the dogs and the groceries. Cathye stayed there and kept the pups and put away everything, while I went back and exchanged the Acadia for the Honda, which has the bike rack on it. Once I got back, we were there for the duration!  We walked around and checked out all of the trailers and met our neighbors. Steve and Bea and Jennifer are both from Washington and they all will be fun to be camped next to! We took Rylee down to the river for a swim. I got in this time so she would actually follow me out to the deep water instead of laying in the shallows! After that, we got the bbq grill out and got ready for dinner. Ron and Teri were joining us for hot dogs!  We had beer and dogs and had a great time visiting with them!

Friday, July 15th., 2022…… This morning the housekeepers were coming to clean so I had asked Penny to come let them in. We walked down to the one food truck at the rally so far, and had breakfast burritos. When we got back, we jumped on the bikes and headed into town to see who had set up for the weekend city-wide yard sale. It was officially supposed to be tomorrow but we wanted to take a bike ride anyway. We found a few folks who were setting up and looked around. Cathye found a pad for her chaise lounger ($5.) and I loaded it on my bike and we headed back home. That lounge chair is vintage and is out for sale along with some other items on a table. Trailer folks will be walking by looking for items to buy. We decided to go out again for a meal and rode the bikes back into town and went to the Brownsville Saloon and had dinner. Cathye likes the video slots there but they didn’t like her this time! Oh well!  After that, we rode back home and settled in for the evening. Yesterday, we found a trailer that had old radios out for sale. We knew these were ones we sold to a couple at Cathye’s estate sale!  So, we went back to see if we could catch them at home. Nope!  We went back later for the Smores night and he was there. Turns out he remembered me! I was the guy reaching up and grabbing the radios (they bought 30!) from the shelves and making a pile for them. Anyway, he turns them into a Bluetooth radio speaker that you can operate from your phones. Many of the vintage guys have them out on display. One of our neighbors said he had one he paid over $200.00 for!  So, he is making money from our stuff. Cathye was so happy to see that these are still out there being enjoyed!  He told Cathye he would do her radio for free and would come by and get it later. We headed back to camp and settled in our chairs and the neighbors came by and joined us for drinks and good conversation.

Saturday, July 16th., 2022……  I got a text this morning at 7:00am from my field mower guy, saying that he was already there and would be unloading and getting started early. So, I got up, got dressed and drove back home to talk to him. There were some areas that I wanted covered and I also asked him to get as many of the blackberry bushes cut up as he could. He had already made a couple of passes and said he figured I was having issues and took them out with no problem!  I left him a check and headed back to the campout.  Cathye took her pie down to turn in for the baking contest. She made a triple berry pie. Judging is later, after the kid’s pie eating contest. We’ll see how she does. We took the dogs out and walked around some more. The open house was today from 11:00am-2:00pm so we needed to hang around for that. Word was out that we were in the park and the public would be invited to come by and walk around and tour whatever trailers had their ‘open’ signs out. I think we must have had 30-40 folks take a peek at ours.  Of course, we already had our chances to go tour around in the last few days. I found my favorite!  This is a 1947 Aero Flite trailer. It is known for it’s ‘trolley car roof’, which I always thought was very cool!

It was restored by the folks at Flyte Camp RV Restoration in Bend. Those guys had a tv show on HGTV a few years back. The owner said the restoration for this guy was right around $120k!  But it is beautiful and well worth the price, I guess.  Of course, they have all types at this outing. There was also a row of Aloha ‘World’s Fair’ model trailers. Very rare and these were totally restored and beautiful!

We went back to the main stage and watched the kids eating pies!  There were some that went in for it!

Lots of fun!  Later, Cathye returned to the stage area and found she had won second prize for her pie!  Yaay! I’m so proud!

We were also on the route for 'The Amazing Race'. They had 7 teams of four competing and we were right between two of the stops. One was were they had to have one person dress up with diving gear and a flamingo and maneuver through an obstacle course. It was hilarious!

Later, we went back to the food carts and found that they all were shut down for the rally!  We spoke with Wade, the organizer, who told us some of his booked trucks didn’t show plus those that did felt they weren’t making enough money and were leaving early. If he does this next year, he said he has learned from it and will do better next time. No worries, we went back and fixed sandwiches and had cottage cheese and watermelon. So, we didn’t starve! Later in the evening, Cathye’s late husband’s son’s mother, Pattie, came by along with her significant other, Dan, who brought his guitar. Not shy, he started right in and sang a dozen songs for our little group. Rylee slept through most of it!

We finally called it a night and went to bed. Last night here. It was really fun!  We will be planning on doing more of them around the area.  Here are more shots of the rally, both day and evening…

Oregon Living 2022 – Blog #27 – Fireworks, a Mini Road Trip & Moving Cherrelyn!

Sunday, July 3rd., 2022……  There were some fireworks going on last night but for the most part, Jama did well. Tomorrow will be the test.  I took the pups again and headed back down for a while and visited. It was pretty quiet. Cathye says that the rowdies around their camp area don’t quiet down until after 1-2:00am! So, I brought her a couple of melatonin to take for the next couple of nights. She said that it worked well and she actually slept pretty good last night! After a bit, I left and got back home and fed the dogs and then went and got some chicken from KFC and spent the rest of the evening catching up on the Tour de France (and Nascar, and Indy Car, and Motocross, and…).

Monday, July 4th., 2022…… HAPPY 4TH OF JULY  !!  More fireworks here last night. Jama just shivers and shakes but having her in my lap helps calm her so we got through it ok. Rylee seems to be doing well this year. I had them out for the walk and then fed them and made my bacon and eggs and relaxed for the morning. I installed that battery but nothing seems to have changed. I need to check it out but also needed to head back for the potluck at the campground. It was very nice and everyone got their fill. We left shortly after that and I came back to prep for the evening. I ate leftover chicken and made sure all of the windows were closed so the noise would be minimal. That worked for the most part. We got some smaller bursts from the neighbors before dark (10:00pm) and then it started. The big show here in town is at Cheadle Lake Park, about 3 miles from here. They shoot off some BIG fireworks!  I went out to close up the garages and watched about 5 minutes of it before coming back in and going to bed. Rylee had a few moments when something startled her. She came in and got up on the bed and was ok after that. We made it.  Cathye said that her show, which is probably about 100 yards from their spot, was really nice.

But the rowdy group decided to break camp and leave after the fireworks. They didn’t get out until 3:00am and they were just right outside her bedroom and were unconcerned about their neighbors and were super loud. So, it took some time for her to fall asleep!

Tuesday, July 5th., 2022…… I went over early this morning with my truck to load up her camping gear. We got her trailer hooked up to her truck and we both headed home. Once we parked the trailer and unloaded the trucks, we relaxed and rested. Cathye was so tired she took a nice nap during the day!  We went out to dinner and watched tv until she couldn’t stay awake any longer. I think it was 9:15pm or so when we went to bed!

Wednesday, July 6th., 2022……   We had an assignment today. Josh, who has settled in to his new Portland apartment nicely, will be starting a new job (still a NH based company, and still the same type of work (some kind of tech work) and still working from home. He needed verification from a relative and she needed to complete an online form and digitally sign, so we decided to make a day of it. We asked Misty to come let the dogs out mid-day, and left about 9:00am and drove over to Dallas for breakfast. I had been to this place before so I knew we’d like it. I was right! It was very good and will be on our list for places in this area. Once we finished and headed out, I drove us through The Vintages. This is a trailer park set up with 36 vintage trailers. It is really interesting!  You can rent one of these for as many nights as you want, given availability. BUT, they are pricey. Cathye looked up prices on the website. They range from $150-200 a night!  They are closed for covid at this time but I’m sure they do ok and are full when open.

They even had several that were exactly like hers!

We continued on to Portland and I managed to squeeze into a tiny space out in front of his place. The signature process took only a few minutes and we had a chance to go up to his rooftop patio and look around and visit for a bit. Cool views!

We then left and headed off to FedEx to mail a package. We dropped Josh off and headed home. We had asked Misty and Lona to come let the dogs out so we weren’t in a big hurry. We got back home and rested for the day.

Thursday, July 7th., 2022……  Cathye had a doctor’s appointment (wellness checkup) and I had acupuncture scheduled for today. I headed out first and got back while Cathye spent some time working on her paperwork. She does not have a 90-day prescription program set up yet with her doctors so she needed to take care of that today. But these days pretty much all of her meds and supplements are in the database so it should be easy to figure out. She also got her 3rd covid booster. They said I could drop-in anytime for mine.

Friday, July 8th., 2022…… Today was a crazy day! We had plans for our two massage appointments. We also had an appointment with our second contractor, who wanted to bring his engineer and talk about our needs and take more measurements so they could engineer the roof system. When we walked the dogs this morning, we also talked with the guy working on brush hogging Rich and Linda’s field grass. He also was doing Lou’s today. I asked him to look at ours and give me a price. We also wanted to mow plus get the trailer washed and ready for our outing next Wednesday. Well, all of that got changed quickly and went offtrack when we got a text from our friend, Mark. Seems we had forgotten about working for him at his estate sale today!  Cathye grabbed her breakfast and coffee and headed over. I called my sister who took my place. They were covered. The contractor and his team showed up and I stayed with them until I had to go to my appointment. Once I was done with that, Cathye and I swapped places – she went for her massage and I went over to work the estate sale. So, all in all, we managed to get everything taken care of. But it was a very hectic day! Tomorrow will be the same so read on!

Saturday, July 9th., 2022……  As I said, another busy day!  We needed to go back to the estate sale to pick up a prepaid firepit and a patio table and two chairs, but we told Mark we’d wait until later in the day when the crowds died down. Today was Cherrelyn’s moving day!  She got her keys to her new place and was almost ready to go!  I had previously loaded up all of the items I had stored for her in our rv garage. They all fit on my flatbed trailer and we were just waiting for the ok to go meet them at her new place to unload. That was set for 11:30am and we made it with no problem. We got unloaded and the girls drove their cars back to the house and we followed with the trailer. We stopped to get the Acadia so we could move her 65” tv. We made another run and got everything moved except her bed and dresser, which would need more muscle to move. We were waiting for Jeremiah, her neighbor, to get back to help. He met us at the house and we got the last of her things loaded. She is leaving her computer station at Penny’s for the meantime until she can get internet set up at the new place. But she is now moved in!  She sent me these pics later after she got most everything put away. Looks good!

The one shot is from her front door looking out across Hwy 228. The other is her section of the main house, which was set up as a rental suite.  She now just has to make a run to Kingman AZ to empty out furniture there in her storage unit. Not sure the timeframe for that but I have volunteered to fly there to help and drive the u-haul back. We'll see...

Meanwhile, Cathye needed to go get those items from Mark, so she took her truck. This is what it looked like after she had help tying things up.

She had two cane chairs in the back seat and a firepit in there in addition to the table you see in the pic. Plus, there was the glass tabletop riding up with her in the front seat. Good thing it was only a few miles back to the house.  After we got unloaded, I came back to the house and stored the trailer and we unloaded the truck and were done for the day!

Oregon Living 2022 – Blog #26 – Yardwork, Delivering a Car, & Getting Ready Out for the 4th

Sunday, June 26th., 2022……  Cathye headed to church and stayed after for the potluck. Temps are well in the 90s here today!  Sooo, when she got back, we stayed in and did pretty much nothing at all!  I wanted to work on the trailer a little but everything was just too hot to touch. Later in the day I got a call from Jamy telling me that the jeep was done. Everything is good to go except for the spare tire and wheel. Seems like no one is going to help us out with this. I’m looking on Facebook Marketplace and Craig’s List and they are out there – just all in the Portland area! I’d spend more in gas going there than I would save! But we’ll keep looking. I told him we’d be there first thing tomorrow morning and to go home and rest and get out of the hot shop on Sunday!  Meanwhile, I got caught up on my races and, later Cathye heard from Brittany after she texted about the jeep being done. Brittany told her that Corey got sick yesterday after his day working here. He was overheated and dehydrated and felt dizzy and weak. But they got fluids in him and by the time we heard about it, he was fine. We decided to clean and fill Rylee's pool again. She was very hesitant at first making the jump into it but once she got confidence, she discovered it was fun and loves it!

Monday, June 27th., 2022…… Temps dropped a little last night. They say today it will only be in the 80s. Not bad but different from the rains only a few weeks ago! We went over to Albany to pay Jamie and drop off his July rent. While we were out, we stopped by the locksmith and had another key made for the jeep (should I need to use it later!). We found out that this key is chipped and the labor (programming) and cost of the key was $75.00! After that sticker shock, we headed back home and relaxed for the day.

Tuesday, June 28th., 2022……  When we were out with the doggos this morning, we talked with our neighbors, Rich and Linda, who were headed off to try Kristi’s for breakfast. We were going there too, so we came back in and fed the dogs and then met them there for a nice meal and good conversation.  Later, Cathye headed over to Lona’s place to see her new (to her) camper van. Lona has bought and sold several vehicles this past year. I hope this one works for her!

Wednesday, June 29th., 2022……  Cathye spent the morning working at SHEM. Meanwhile, I headed over to Albany to get a spare key made for Cathye’s trailer. Remember, this is the finicky lockset we just replaced on her door. Fingers crossed I can get a second key that works!  Long story short, I went to four places and ended up at the same locksmith shop we were the other day. Luckily, this key was only $3.25! (we tested it later and it works!). Those 4 stops cost me enough time to make me late!  I hurried over to Sweet Home to pick up Cathye, who was done with SHEM and had walked over to the tavern in town to order lunch for us. She wasn’t too upset and ordered us a beer and a French dip sandwich to split!  We ate and then drove down to NW RV in Eugene. I was looking for more parts for the 5th wheel. I needed cabinet pulls, plus lenses for the overhead light fixtures and bulbs for them too. I also needed a vent but that can wait for now. We got most of what we needed and headed back home.  After we rested for a bit, the only other thing on my list for today was to pull Cathye’s Shasta trailer out to get it setup for the end of this week. For today, all I needed to do was hook up my truck and pull the trailer out from the carport and plug it back in. That will give Cathye easy access to it later. Later, I begged off of going line dancing. Cathye told me the ‘teach‘ for tonight and we watched it on YouTube and I wasn’t interested. So, she asked Judy to go with her. I fixed myself dinner later and she left to go pick up Judy. When she got home later, she said it was fun. “Not sure I learned it, but it was fun!”

Thursday, June 30th., 2022……  I spent some time today working on hanging up the final few pics on our ‘wedding wall’. I think it looks pretty good!

Special thanks to our friend, Jerith. We had all of the appropriate signatures done on our marriage certificate, then sent it off to SoCal and Jerith, who has absolutely the best handwriting we've ever seen!, to finish it up for us. She even used the colors perfectly!  Thanks, Jerith - you're the best!

Today Brittany is coming over to take the paperwork for the jeep to the dmv to get it registered in her name. We will retain the owner’s title when it comes back until she pays it off.  Today we needed to prep the trailer for the camping trip to Brownsville for the 4th of July holiday.

Cathye is camping in her little Shasta and will be joined by her friends in their rv’s/tents. We both spent some time working on it. I checked the lights and the new lockset and gathered up firewood and the firepit and chairs and such while she worked on loading up her stuff on the inside.  Once we were done with that, we decided to go get a Papa Murphy’s pizza to eat at home. Tv until bedtime.

Friday, July 1st., 2022…… She had the trailer loaded up and ready to go!  So, we headed off to Brownsville around 11:30am hoping to be able to find and secure her favorite spot for her and the group. I followed her there in my truck and then backed in her trailer for her and helped her set it up. There was a little ‘tussle for turf’ between Cathye and an old crotchety b*”ch but they got it resolved and we had enough room for Lona’s van and Robin’s tent trailer to fit in and everyone was happy. I continued on to Eugene to pick up the light covers that NW RV got in from backorder. I also stopped by Pedego to get some touch-up paint for our bikes, which got knicked up from the chain lock on the bike rack when we took them on our trip in May. They offered to do the touch-up there if I brought them in so I chose to do that when I bring them in for the 100-mile checkup.  Also, the paint pens were $25.00 ea.!   I stopped back at Pioneer Park and visited for a bit then headed off home. I made quesadillas for dinner and relaxed and watched tv until bedtime.

Saturday, July 2nd., 2022……  After walking Rylee (Cathye has Jama with her) I fed her and went off to get breakfast and stop to get a few things from Walmart before the crowds hit later today. I watched day 2 of the Tour de France and then worked on my bill spreadsheet before heading off to the auto parts store. I am looking for a deep cycle battery for the 5th wheel. I think it’s required for the igniter for the water heater, which I can’t get to work. I found and bought a battery at Walmart but didn’t get it in today. Later, I headed off to Brownsville, this time via Sweet Home Rv where I was hoping to find some more of the light fixture lenses that I bought out from NW RV!  Luckily, they had the exact items. Plus, they had individual light bulbs and since I couldn’t read the number off the old one, I took a chance and bought one the guy said would work. I headed over to the park and visited for a while. We took the pups down to the river where Rylee likes to swim. I didn’t get all the way in the water because this year it was way too cold! But Rylee swam (actually just walked around and laid down in it!) and cooled off.

Later, I left and headed back home for the day. A short while after that, Cathye called and asked if I could take Jama because the (pre) fireworks were starting and she was shaking badly. She said she would bring her home and that way she could grab a quick shower while she was here. After she did that, she headed back and joined her group while the dogs and I relaxed here for the evening.  Here are some pics from the weekend...
