Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #15 – More Medical and Finally our Yard Sale!

Note:  I am behind in my posts and just finished #14, so be sure to read that one first!

Sunday, April 19th., 2026……

That's us in the middle by the main building

We slept in just a bit but then I had to go back inside to start the coffee. Today’s breakfast was potluck. We had a lot of scrambled eggs leftover from yesterday so I heated them up in the crockpot. Everyone brought items and we had more than enough for the group that made it to the 8:30 breakfast time! Then it was time to clean up the camp. This always takes some time but we had enough campers to all help out. I worked the kitchen and made sure all areas were clean and items were put away. Then it was swept and mopped. Others cleaned the floors and bathrooms and eventually we all got our tasks done. Cathye cleaned up the motorhome and then drove back home to take care of the dogs so Penny could go home. Thanks, Sis for watching them and the house! When we finally had the camp clean and spiffy, I got the rig ready and took off. I needed fuel so I went back into town. Sunday morning was quiet and I was able to get into a station with no issues and got enough fuel for another couple of trips. When I got back home, we had decided to stage the yard sale in the rv garage because the weather didn’t look promising, so I parked the motorhome on the rv pad and plugged it in there. We unloaded it and started laundry. But for the most part, we were done for the day. I went off to class because Cat was beat and still not feeling well. We only had a small turnout of class members and they didn’t need me to angel, so I headed back home. We watched tv and then hit the spa before an early bedtime.

Monday, April 20th., 2026…… Cathye had dog duty this morning because I needed to head in to town to do labs for my upcoming appointment with my urologist later today. I got that done pretty quickly and got home and we relaxed until we had to head off to Albany. Not sure about what they would be doing today, but in addition to a consult, they gave me the first part of the treatment which is a shot (in the tummy) of Eligard. That’s a hormone treatment designed to treat prostate cancer by reducing testosterone levels to slow cancer growth. They said it would “sting first then hurt like hell”. I needed to hang around for 20 minutes to see if I had any negative reactions (hives, swelling, etc.), but I had no initial pain from the shot and no side effects and was able to leave with no issues. Later, I only had a little bump at the injection site but that would only last a few days. We left with a plan and later got appointments made and put into our calendars. Next up will be the bladder resection coming up on May 5th. That one is to go back in and check to see that they got all of the cancer from the bladder. I protested because he said he was 100% sure he got it all last biopsy but both he and Cat insisted they go back in! So, I was outvoted and will have to have another f***ing catheter for two days again!  But I’m good with that, I guess!   On the way home, we stopped by a Club members house to pick up a couple more tables we will need for our yard sale.

Tuesday, April 21st., 2026…… The weather is iffy these days. One day we have clear skies and it’s cold; another day it is cloudy and warmer!  Go figure!  Today, we had both cloudy and cold.  Today, Cathye’s new landscaper is coming to start in on his weeding job for us. Cathye identified an area for them to do – for a set price – with the caveat that there would be more work if she likes the results. Well, this day was put off by the guy a couple of times so that didn’t start well. Later in the morning, he texted that he was running late and would “be there at 4:00pm and would work until he finished”.  Ok, that didn’t happen!  When he got there, he said he gave most of his crew the day off and only had a young kid with him. They started in and worked maybe an hour and then he knocked on the door, apologizing and saying this was more work than he thought and he was quitting. He said he wasn’t charging us for what he did. Good, because he didn’t do too much! So, now she is back to square one with workers!

Wednesday, April 22nd., 2026……  A busy day!  We have our housekeeper coming to clean today and today is setup and staging day for the yard sale. We were up and out early and started setting up tables and bringing down items that we had stored up on the shelves in the rv garage. People came early and dropped off more tables, which we desperately needed, and we got things out and staged. I didn’t count but there were people at almost every one of the 24 tables we had set out!  It was a zoo but we all worked together and got everything done just after 2:00pm. Our helpers left and others came to bring more items and more tables, but for the most part we were ready. Later, I went out and put up the dozen or so signs. I didn’t have as many as last sale but we put up what we had and then went to the community yard sale board at the UM Church and then went on to Caliber for dinner. We met up with Mike and Cheryl and had a nice relaxing meal before heading home and calling it a night. I had already brought out our 30-cup coffee maker and had it made and ready to tomorrow morning.

Thursday, April 23rd., 2026…… I was up before 56:00am and left to go to Sugar Vibes to get a couple dozen donuts for the crew. When I got back, we started in with the popups and sales table. We were ready!  The early morning start time didn’t stop the crowd.  From my experience with the Rustlers SoCal yard sales, we know we get the serious buyers early. They are the resellers and always hit the jewelry table first! We even had some with jewelry loops closely examining our items to see if we missed pricing something and they could score!  We also get our retirees and moms who have dropped off their kids at school. They made for a continuous row of cars parked out on our street for most of the morning. Lunch time we had another large wave and we were happy campers!  We had some high-ticket items ($150-$600) and we sold several of them early on. Most everything was priced right so a lot of it went the first day. Later in the day, Cat went out and got us a couple of pizzas for lunch. As I said, a lot of items sold the first day. Tomorrow – based on my experience – will be somewhat lighter, and Saturday we will get the working group and families looking for bargains. We shut down at 4:00pm and when we came in, we noticed we were sore and tired. I think Cat went to bed at 8:00pm!

Friday, April 24th., 2026……  I was up early again and repeated the process, this time going to Walmart for cheaper donuts. The donuts for each day were our treat. The lunch today was from Subway. We would find that each day, we would have the same Club members come early and stay all day with us. Others would come and work a few hours as they could. We had another group of workers come in for Friday. We had a steady crowd and it was a good day, but short of day 1.

Saturday, April 25th., 2026…… Last day!  We had made the decision to put up signs saying everything $50.00 and under was half price. That made it easy for folks to bring a lot of $1 - $5 items to the table!  We sold and sold and sold today and it would turn out to be our biggest day!  We shut down at 3:00pm today and I had a driver take me out so we could pull down all of the signs. When I got back, they were separating items into three sections. 1) items to save for our silent auction at our Strawberry Festival dance next month, 2) items to be put back on the shelf for next year. These were nicer items and will sell eventually; and 3) those that were to be donated. We got lucky here because before the sale Cat got a call from a lady asking if we would be willing to donate any remaining items for another fund raiser for a college in Portland. We were glad to help and within an hour after calling them, she sent her husband and son in two trucks and they took EVERYTHING we set out!  That really helped us out because we would have had to haul them to a thrift store or similar.  All told, after lunch expenses, we brought in almost $3000. Not bad and twice as much as any of us expected. Plus, we still have some nice items which we are pondering how to sell. Take a look at this pair of life-sized Mr. and Mrs. Claus. We found prices on eBay and just Santa alone was listed for $2300!

We are looking at Facebook Marketplace for local pickup at $600 for the pair. We have other items we can list on Marketplace as well so the potential is there to make even more money for the Club!

After everything was done and everyone was gone, we settled in for the rest of the evening. We ate leftover pizza and just kicked back for the night. Another early bedtime for both of us!

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #14 – Another Medical Week for Me & then Going Camping!

Sunday, April 12th., 2026…… A lazy Sunday for both of us! After getting us breakfast, we settled in for the day and watched tv. The rains are still around but today was just cold and windy. So, we spent it inside, watching our taped programs and I worked on the blog. Later, I shot a pic of the nice sunset....

Monday, April 13th., 2026…… This morning, I was up and going early. I had a 7:30am dentist appointment. It was my 3-month cleaning. This time I got x-rays as well but I was still out in less than an hour, so I stopped and got us breakfast. Cat was barely up but had the dogs walked and fed. A few hours later, we headed off to Albany for my first oncology visit. This was a consult. Dr. Yeh went over the plan – I will get a surgery scheduled to have markers put in around my prostate and at that time they will also put in what they call a blocker so the radiation will only target the prostate area. I later got that scheduled for May 19. After that is done, they will schedule me for once a day – Mon-Fri - for 5 to 5 ½ weeks for an 8-minute radiation treatment. He explained that it is simple and will most likely only tire me out after a few treatments. My friend, Mike, just completed his treatment and he said he was tired but most of that was the 30-minute drive each way to Corvallis every day!  Once we were done, we stopped and got some burritos for lunch and came back home and were done for the day. Tv and spa and bed.

Tuesday, April 14th., 2026…… Another early morning. But today was only labs for my upcoming wellness physical with my primary care doctor. I made the run to Albany and got that done. Later, we worked a little on getting things ready for our upcoming campout at Camp Koinonia later this week. We are again in charge of the Saturday breakfast. This year, we are doing eggs, bacon, sausage, and gravy and rolls. We have assigned (or are getting volunteers tbd) folks for bacon and sausage. I am doing the eggs. Anyway, that is going smoothly so far.

Wednesday, April 15th., 2026……  Today is my urology appointment. But for today, it was my CT Urogram. It will determine if the cancer has moved into other parts of my body. The test took maybe 30 minutes total. The only issue I had was that the technician had to poke me a few times in both arms to get an iv into me!  But once I was ready, it was easy to just lay there. I would find out later in the day that there was no significant findings in other organs. But that was me looking at the 'medicalese' language on MyChart!  Next week I go in for another meeting with the urologist who will talk more about it.

Thursday, April 16th., 2026…… No medical for either of us today so we spent time getting things ready for the campout. I think the motorhome is ready but I’m still worried about the bedroom slide. I checked it and it looks like it’s working! Yaay!  We both got our clothes and cooking items in the rig and we are ready. They won’t let us ion the camp until noon so I don’t have to pull the coach out of the garage until morning. That done, we are ready!

Friday, April 17th., 2026……  Once we had the motorhome out and ready, Cathye took off in the truck (because we are expecting more donations for the yard sale and we wanted to make sure we could haul them) and I followed. My plan was to stop and get fuel but the only station on the way had folks lined up at the only diesel island I could access, so I headed on to the campground. Mike got me parked and I got plugged in to electricity. This is not a campground (it’s a church retreat) so we only have just 20 amps or so for power. Not even enough for our electric heater, so I hope it’s not too cold at night! After I got us hooked up, we started in getting unloaded and everything staged in the kitchen for Saturday. Plus, we have our potluck dish for tonight. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the group, having a nice potluck, and dancing a bit. Tonight, we had a guest caller, who is dating one of my heroes – Barbie Ashwell, who, along with her then husband Lee, were General Chairman of the Portland National Square Dance Convention. I introduced myself and we shared a lot about my work in several Nationals and we ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Talk about a blast from the past!  And she was an advisor to our convention and always was so nice and helpful. As I said, we danced a bit then headed back and called it a night.  The motorhome was a little cold but once we crawled into bed with the heating pad going, we slept fine.

Saturday, April 18th., 2026…… I was up early to go inside to get things started for breakfast. It got super chilly in the motorhome last night but Mike had the fireplace going and the room and kitchen were comfortable. I had the coffee going and got things ready for our bacon and sausage cookers, Joe and Nate. Thanks, guys! They managed their jobs well and we had the gravy and eggs and everything timed and ready to serve at 8:30. Everyone said it was yummy so I think it went well and we had enough eggs left for tomorrow’s potluck breakfast as well. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and visiting with our group. This place has dorms and cabins so each member can stay the weekend even if they don’t have an rv.  This was our biggest event to date, with 9 rvs and 40 plus staying the nights. In the afternoon, Shaun did a teach tip, explain hex squares. That’s 6-couple squares instead of 4. That was fun!  Later, we had a couple in charge of dinner, which was a potato bake. They had this HUGE bag of giant russet potatoes which they started cooking early, which made them perfect for our feast!  The Club brought ‘fixins’ for the taters and additional dishes to enjoy. It was also yummy!  Later, Cathye wasn’t feeling well so we sat out most of the night and just relaxed by the fire. The motorhome was a lot warmer tonight and we slept great.

Here’s some pics from the weekend….

                                                            Puzzles and card games too!

This is my friend Barbie with her new friend George
Chillin by the fire!  We are both beat!

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #13 – A Great Easter & Getting to Appointments During the Week

Sunday, April 5th., 2026…… HAPPY EASTER!!!  We were up early because we were heading off to Easter service. This time we chose to go to Penny’s new church. It is right up the road from our house, so that was nice!  The service was good and we even saw friends from our Club. We got out quickly because we had things to do. But Cat got her tasks completed and we we ready when the family came over. The littles are getting so big!  Caroline is just about ready to walk on her own. Creed is still happy to jet across the floor to get where he wants to go. I believe that the next time we see them, they will be hard to catch! It was a fun day. The older kids had their egg hunt out on the porch. Penny was here for the day too. Later, we had a nice ham dinner. Everything was great! Here are pics from the day.

Monday, April 6th., 2026…… Both of us were a little sore this morning. I think it was from all that activity with the kids yesterday! But, we hit the gym anyway and I think that helped loosen us up for the day. We found Kevin’s was closed today so we had to go to Albany to Elmer’s for their German pancakes! Yummy, when we got back, I started on cleaning up the woodpile. I had moved everything away from the shop garage back when they were painting, so it all had to go back. Plus, that would free up the boat! I have current tags and we are ready to clean it up and charge the battery and take it out. Now I can do that!  We also had some people bring more yard sale stuff. Pointe Pest Control was also here today for their quarterly service. He was in and out in no time. Great service and highly recommended. Later, we rested and ate leftovers and settled in for tv and then the spa before bed.

Tuesday, April 7th., 2026…… Nothing on the agenda for today but I wanted to work on the patio furniture. We moved it into a different configuration this time but the back of the couch is very close to the edge of the deck. I designed and built a block to clamp on to the deckboards so the couch was now stable. Easy fix. I also want to run an extension cord under the deck to plug in the towel warmer for the spa. Currently, it runs around the deck in the flowerbed. I will need to think this one out though because the deckboards are really tight and I can’t just shove a pipe under them from one end to the other. I’m working on a device to feed the line down and under each joint – just need to get that organized. Also, working on a new string trimmer line. I am so tired of having to fix the feed line coming out from my Dewalt trimmer! They have so many wire-based units to retrofit so I need to research what will fit my trimmer.

Wednesday, April 8th., 2026……  This morning we walked the girls and fed them then ate breakfast and grabbed coffee for the drive over to Costco in Albany.  Cat had her appointment for her hearing test. I shopped for a few things while she was getting tested. She texted me to co0me see the test device, which is what she ordered (only it will be in a bronze color which matches her hair better).

It will take a few weeks for them to make them. When we got back home, we did some laundry and then rested for a bit before dinner and tv for the night.

Thursday, April 9th., 2026…… We both had haircuts this morning and went to Kristi’s for breakfast then off to get those done. Later, we both have massages, but I wanted to get the mowers prepped for later today. The weather is changing and we want to get the lawn mowed before it rains! I also worked on my string trimmer and did the area around the blueberry cage. I had everything ready and then headed off to my appointment. When I left, Cat was just coming in for her appointment. When I got home, I started in. Penny came over and did the field while I started on my normal area. Cat wasn’t back yet, so I did the front and back lawns. We were cleaning up the mowers just as she got home. Great timing Dear!  👏😍  I went in and we ate the dinner (teriyaki) that she had brought back and we were in for the day.

Friday, April 10th., 2026…… This morning we had to get Rylee in for her grooming. We made sure to help her in and out of the car and told them to be very careful getting her on and off their table.  More and more yard sale stuff keeps coming in from our dancer friends and Penny. We have the rv garage wall full to the max and more stuff is now in the shop garage as well. More folks say they will bring their items next Wednesday when they come to help set up and price everything. Mike came by with his tractor to move our gas tank, which is going to be out for the sale. But it was behind the shop and I need it out where folks can see it and it will be easier to load on a truck or trailer if/when sold.

Later, Cathye had a meeting with a new potential landscaper, who she says is now coming next week to weed the front yard and around the house. If she likes their work that will be phase one of two or three for the entire yard. He was only here for a few minutes and we got back in the house before the rains hit. The sky was black heading from the south and when it hit – it hit!  It was super windy as well and the rain came in sideways and soaked the deck furniture. We had to scramble to move the pads out of the wind and rain before they got a soaking or blew away!

Saturday, April 11th., 2026…… The rains are still on and off for today. We plan to go up to Salem tonight for a Club visitation, so I hope we get a break by then.

Ok, it’s later now. No break in the rain but we stopped and picked up Toni and Moe and headed up anyway. The dance was well attended and we had a great time. We did leave early because Mo and Toni kennel their dogs when gone and they have a puppy who gets a little nervous when left alone too long.  We got back and relaxed and settled down to tv before calling it a night.

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #13 – Another Consult & Prepping for Yard Sale and Easter

Sunday, March 29th., 2026…… Today was a great day!  I am feeling much better!  Still some serious pain to pee but it’s been lesser and lesser these past few days. We hung around the house because we had a telehealth screening scheduled for today with our health care provider. They cancelled and haven’t rescheduled yet.  I went out and got us breakfast and coffee and then later, went to work on the pipes. I had bought the yard hydrant

and today I wanted to get it installed. I had to dig through and remove the pea gravel to get to the elbow for removal. Then it was just a matter of unscrewing the old one and carefully threading the new one in without getting debris in the line. It went rather easily and then it was on to the blueberry line. That one is pvc so I had to saw the old one off and then put the replacement assembly on and glue in place. I will have to wait until tomorrow before I can turn the water on. But, they both went well. I am still struggling in getting the shower door sweep installed where it won’t leak. The new one isn’t sealing so I still have some work to do on that job. Later, after dinner, we wen off to the beginner’s class. It was disappointing as most of the class wasn’t there. Not sure why!

Monday, March 30th., 2026…… Today was my urologist appointment. It was reassuring to know I have “favorable intermediate risk” prostate cancer. We discussed all of the options and I chose radiation and androgen deprivation. My decipher score will evaluate the biology of my tumor and he will most likely have to proceed with a testosterone blocker for 6 months. That stops any subsequent tumor growth. Then I get fiducial markers - in reality that is a  block to stop any radiation from going past the prostate. Then radiation for 5 days a week for 6-8 weeks. For the bladder, he says it is non-muscle invasive (more or less on the outside) and he is recommending that he go back in in 4-6 weeks to do another resection to ensure there is no additional tumor present. If that is the case, I will go on a schedule of 6 bladder treatments of weekly chemotherapy. More on that to come. So, all in all, it was pretty much what we anticipated. I am not looking forward to any more catheters but that is something I have to face in the weeks to come!

After we left, we stopped by Arby’s for lunch then came back home. Cat headed off to Walmart because she needs to get stuff for Easter. Last night she heard back that Corey and Vikki and family will be here all day for Easter. She wants to get things for dinner plus items for the kids.

Tuesday, March 31st., 2026…… On top of everything else, I have my annual physical scheduled for today!  I have to lot to share now, but hopefully that will go ok.

Ok, it’s later now… I got back from seeing Sally. We had a long talk about what I have going these days, but nothing major on anything else so far. Later, I got a few calls from hospitals and labs getting scheduling going for tests and draws. Nothing else on the agenda for the rest of the day.

Wednesday, April 1st., 2026…… Rain this morning. But we took the girls out anyway and dried them before coming back in the house. After we fed them, we decided to go over to Sweet Home for breakfast. They opened a new diner there called Taylor Made and we wanted to try it out. I must say we have mixed feelings. The coffee was amazing! The young man serving us not so much. He seemed to not have any idea of priority as he helped others who came in after us. Even took to go orders at the counter before ours! I asked for my omelette to be a ‘light cook’ and what I got was on the border of crusty! When we didn’t get a check or any other service, I went to the front counter and the owner came up to assist me. Well, when she asked if everything was ok, I was polite, but unloaded that my meal was inedible! Cat loved her omelette. She got the chef (another young man) up front and he admitted that he thought it was overcooked and almost didn’t want to serve it. I said “then you shouldn’t have!” The owner immediately took my meal off the bill and we left with a good attitude. They are a new place and she’s training everyone! So, we will be going back again – but maybe in a few weeks or more so they can get it together!  We got back home and stayed in because of the rain. Tomorrow I am scheduled to ride up with Frank to Dallas (OR) to go see my friend, Paul, to pick up a truck load of yard sale items he has for us. Weather is iffy so I hope we get lucky tomorrow! Later, we ate dinner and settled in for tv. Later, we hit the spa and then called it for the night

Thursday, April 2nd., 2026…… Frank came over and picked me up and we drove the 50 miles to Dallas and met up with Paul at Tater’s Café for breakfast. After that, we followed him over to his place and got to work. Paul has decided to not decorate for Christmas, so most of his donations were Christmas- related. We did get a train set, a lawnmower, a paint sprayer, and a miter saw table which will all do well at the sale. But the big ticket items(s) are 5 ft. tall Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

We loaded up everything in Frank’s truck and headed back home. We did encounter a couple of thundershowers but everything was either crated up or boxed so we had no damage when we got home. After Frank left, I researched on eBay and was rather shocked to find what the Claus figures are worth! Wow!

Friday, April 3rd., 2026…… The weather is getting better now. We are supposed to get several days in a row with temps in the 70s! Looks like records are gonna be broken! With the weather so nice, we are working outside again. Cathye cleaned up her flower beds and I hauled the brush out to the burnpile. Pretty easy day though. We spent the rest of it hanging around the house. Rylee is doing better and wants to run and play, especially in the mornings. She tries zoomies until we stop her! We give her trazadone to keep her calm and that helps. But, in the afternoon, she starts limping so we know she’s still in recovery. Later, Cat took off for her annual mammogram. When she got back, she said it went well. Not too much pain!

Saturday, April 4th., 2026…… Penny is our biggest advocate for the Club yard sale!  She has been bringing over a lot of little items now and then and the pile is growing. But, this morning, she has a front door for me to go pick up. One of her friends has replaced theirs and wanted to get rid of the old one. We drove over in my truck and the door was ready. It’s solid oak with a stained glass insert and is really heavy. The guy helped me load it and they followed us back to help unload it. Whew! Thanks for that! I think it will sell pretty quickly at the sale so that’s a great find! Later, we headed off to our hippie dance. Cathye dressed for it but I toned it down. Here is last year’s pic.

The wig I usually wear is really hot so I chose to just wear the shirt. At the dance, we saw that our friend, Mark, had made a poster of four of us from last year. It came out awesome!

Tonight, they had awards for the best costumes. This time Cathye won!

                                                                              winners
this is Mark, who designed and made the poster

After the dance, we cleaned up and headed home for the night. Cat has been prepping for our Easter Sunday party and, even though she has a lot done already, tomorrow will be a busy day!

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #12 – Still in Some Pain & Finally Mowing!

Sunday, March 22nd., 2026…… HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!  The weather is back to rainy. But for this morning at least, it is sunny. Cat walked and fed the girls and I headed off to pick up breakfast and coffee. I had a nice night’s sleep, even with getting up a few times to pee, and I am feeling much better this morning. We’ll see about class later today….

We spent the day just lounging around and watching tv. We unloaded the yard sale items we received last night, but that was about it for the day!  We decided to skip class tonight and just watched tv until bed.

Monday, March 23rd., 2026…… Today the weather was nicer. Still cloudy but no rain. We are hoping to mow later this week if we get some sunny days to let the grass dry out. The only thing we had on the agenda today was lunch – Cathye’s lunch – with Judy. They brought me back a small pizza which I ate later for dinner. I am still having issues with urine output. I am drinking plenty of water but I still have issues with blood. Plus, it hurts to pee! I put a call in to my urologist but he hasn’t returned my call as of this evening.

Tuesday, March 24th., 2026…… HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANIE!  I called her and we got caught up on everything.  This morning, I heard back from the doctor’s office. They addressed my concerns and asked me some more questions. I gave them an update that I am feeling a little better. Less blood now but still a lot of pain. I was told that bleeding can occur for up to 3 weeks. They said to be concerned if I pass large clots of blood. So far, so good! And now I know more about how to address the pain. I have my consult next Monday.

Today we finally get the taxes done. We had everything ready months ago but for some reason, Cat’s financial company was late in getting her their tax form. They had sent us a letter that it would be mailed out later in Feb. or possibly in March. Well, we got it a few weeks ago! Anyway, that is now done!   Later, we got picked up by Mo and Toni and went over to the Berkeys to play cards with them and Frank and Marrianne. It was a fun night and I was the subject of a lot of conversation! Mike has already done the prostate treatment and explained it a bit. Not the treatment perse but that he had to go in once a day for 5 weeks. Each session was only 8-12 minutes in and out but he said he was worn out at the end. Like him, I will have to drive to Corvallis each time.

Wednesday, March 25th., 2026…… Nothing today. We have great weather so we did a little work outside. Cat worked on getting potting soil in a pot so she could transfer the strawberry plant from the raised bed to the pot. I worked a little on getting the mowers on the charger. Cat’s Cub Cadet (center in the pic) .

has either a weak battery or a weak starter, so I have to put in on the charger overnight. We also got the owner certificate (pink slip for those of you in Cali!) for the motorhome. I’m not sure if I have ever mentioned it on here before, but I have been trying to get the motorhome transferred to Cathye’s name for quite some time now.  Turns out since it’s financed, USAA won’t let me just change names. They require me to go through a whole new loan. I was lucky when we bought the coach to get a 5.5% loan – which is unheard of nowadays! So, that was not an option. We decided to just go ahead and transfer funds and pay it off early.

Thursday, March 26th., 2026…… Today was a regular day for our routine. We walked and fed the girls and then went to the gym before going to Kristi’s for breakfast. We both needed to get back to our groove!  Since Rylee has some restrictions from surgery, Cat had to reschedule her grooming, but later this morning, we took Jama in for hers.  It only took a short time and we get a call to come get her!  Meanwhile, Ryllee is doing really well. She still has times when she has trouble getting up from the floor. She limps for a bit then is ok. Other times, she’s fine. The doctor still has us walk her outside on a leash (yeah right!). We do keep them both on leash when we walk them up the street in the morning. She still gets trazadone daily to help her relax and not be so boisterous. But the stitches look great and her hair is coming back in quickly. We did go over to the DMV here in town (waited less than 7 minutes to get to the counter!) and got the motorhome title transferred to mine and Cat’s names. That’s done!

Friday, March 27th., 2026…… The plan for today is to mow!  Yaay! Penny said she wants to come try it to see if it bothers her shoulder. We walked and fed the dogs and checked out the grass. It was in the 30s last night so there is still some dampness on the ground. But it is supposed to get up to the mid-60s today and that will work for us to mow! I got the mowers out and gassed up. Yaay, they all started right up! We waited until close to 2:00pm and then started in.  Penny came and got going too. She took it easy but did great and we were done in quick order. I had one spot that was a quagmire and Cat found some soggy areas in the field but for the most part, we got it all done. Later, I took Cat out to dinner. We chose High Caliber Kitchen (I wrote about it before) for their delicious mac and cheese. But they had slow roasted prime rib on the special and we saw one coming out – so I ordered that and Cat got the mac and a salad and we shared. It was delicious. Can’t wait for friends and family to come up so we can take them there!  Speaking of family, I heard back from Kyle letting me know he has had some unexpected expenses come up so he has to, unfortunately, cancel his family trip here in June. We’re sad because we always enjoy their visits. When we got back, Cat went out and sprayed weedkiller on the French drain area. She ran out so we will start that up again tomorrow.

Saturday, March 28th., 2026…… No dances this weekend. We made plans for today though. We needed to go to the hardware store for some plumbing parts, a shower bottom sweep, and some more weedkiller. So yesterday I turned the main irrigation line back on for the blueberries and the rv pad and the one in the field where Rylee’s pool used to be. Anyway, I found I had two pipes that had burst sometime throughout the winter freezes. So, I have to get those repaired asap.  Later, we rested and stayed home. No dances in the area anyway.
