Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #12 – Still in Some Pain & Finally Mowing!

Sunday, March 22nd., 2026…… HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!  The weather is back to rainy. But for this morning at least, it is sunny. Cat walked and fed the girls and I headed off to pick up breakfast and coffee. I had a nice night’s sleep, even with getting up a few times to pee, and I am feeling much better this morning. We’ll see about class later today….

We spent the day just lounging around and watching tv. We unloaded the yard sale items we received last night, but that was about it for the day!  We decided to skip class tonight and just watched tv until bed.

Monday, March 23rd., 2026…… Today the weather was nicer. Still cloudy but no rain. We are hoping to mow later this week if we get some sunny days to let the grass dry out. The only thing we had on the agenda today was lunch – Cathye’s lunch – with Judy. They brought me back a small pizza which I ate later for dinner. I am still having issues with urine output. I am drinking plenty of water but I still have issues with blood. Plus, it hurts to pee! I put a call in to my urologist but he hasn’t returned my call as of this evening.

Tuesday, March 24th., 2026…… HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANIE!  I called her and we got caught up on everything.  This morning, I heard back from the doctor’s office. They addressed my concerns and asked me some more questions. I gave them an update that I am feeling a little better. Less blood now but still a lot of pain. I was told that bleeding can occur for up to 3 weeks. They said to be concerned if I pass large clots of blood. So far, so good! And now I know more about how to address the pain. I have my consult next Monday.

Today we finally get the taxes done. We had everything ready months ago but for some reason, Cat’s financial company was late in getting her their tax form. They had sent us a letter that it would be mailed out later in Feb. or possibly in March. Well, we got it a few weeks ago! Anyway, that is now done!   Later, we got picked up by Mo and Toni and went over to the Berkeys to play cards with them and Frank and Marrianne. It was a fun night and I was the subject of a lot of conversation! Mike has already done the prostate treatment and explained it a bit. Not the treatment perse but that he had to go in once a day for 5 weeks. Each session was only 8-12 minutes in and out but he said he was worn out at the end. Like him, I will have to drive to Corvallis each time.

Wednesday, March 25th., 2026…… Nothing today. We have great weather so we did a little work outside. Cat worked on getting potting soil in a pot so she could transfer the strawberry plant from the raised bed to the pot. I worked a little on getting the mowers on the charger. Cat’s Cub Cadet (center in the pic) .

has either a weak battery or a weak starter, so I have to put in on the charger overnight. We also got the owner certificate (pink slip for those of you in Cali!) for the motorhome. I’m not sure if I have ever mentioned it on here before, but I have been trying to get the motorhome transferred to Cathye’s name for quite some time now.  Turns out since it’s financed, USAA won’t let me just change names. They require me to go through a whole new loan. I was lucky when we bought the coach to get a 5.5% loan – which is unheard of nowadays! So, that was not an option. We decided to just go ahead and transfer funds and pay it off early.

Thursday, March 26th., 2026…… Today was a regular day for our routine. We walked and fed the girls and then went to the gym before going to Kristi’s for breakfast. We both needed to get back to our groove!  Since Rylee has some restrictions from surgery, Cat had to reschedule her grooming, but later this morning, we took Jama in for hers.  It only took a short time and we get a call to come get her!  Meanwhile, Ryllee is doing really well. She still has times when she has trouble getting up from the floor. She limps for a bit then is ok. Other times, she’s fine. The doctor still has us walk her outside on a leash (yeah right!). We do keep them both on leash when we walk them up the street in the morning. She still gets trazadone daily to help her relax and not be so boisterous. But the stitches look great and her hair is coming back in quickly. We did go over to the DMV here in town (waited less than 7 minutes to get to the counter!) and got the motorhome title transferred to mine and Cat’s names. That’s done!

Friday, March 27th., 2026…… The plan for today is to mow!  Yaay! Penny said she wants to come try it to see if it bothers her shoulder. We walked and fed the dogs and checked out the grass. It was in the 30s last night so there is still some dampness on the ground. But it is supposed to get up to the mid-60s today and that will work for us to mow! I got the mowers out and gassed up. Yaay, they all started right up! We waited until close to 2:00pm and then started in.  Penny came and got going too. She took it easy but did great and we were done in quick order. I had one spot that was a quagmire and Cat found some soggy areas in the field but for the most part, we got it all done. Later, I took Cat out to dinner. We chose High Caliber Kitchen (I wrote about it before) for their delicious mac and cheese. But they had slow roasted prime rib on the special and we saw one coming out – so I ordered that and Cat got the mac and a salad and we shared. It was delicious. Can’t wait for friends and family to come up so we can take them there!  Speaking of family, I heard back from Kyle letting me know he has had some unexpected expenses come up so he has to, unfortunately, cancel his family trip here in June. We’re sad because we always enjoy their visits. When we got back, Cat went out and sprayed weedkiller on the French drain area. She ran out so we will start that up again tomorrow.

Saturday, March 28th., 2026…… No dances this weekend. We made plans for today though. We needed to go to the hardware store for some plumbing parts, a shower bottom sweep, and some more weedkiller. So yesterday I turned the main irrigation line back on for the blueberries and the rv pad and the one in the field where Rylee’s pool used to be. Anyway, I found I had two pipes that had burst sometime throughout the winter freezes. So, I have to get those repaired asap.  Later, we rested and stayed home. No dances in the area anyway.

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #11 – Surgery, Then Recovery and Then Not the Best News But Not the Worst!

Sunday, March 15th., 2026…… The weather is starting to look a little better for us here now. Last week it was rainy off and on all week. This week’s forecast shows no rain until the end of the week. I am hoping I will feel good enough after my biopsy to be able to mow the lawn again. After I made my breakfast run, we watched tv for most of the day. Races for me and Hallmark for Cat. Penny came by and visited for a while. Later, we headed off to class. When we met with our Club President last week, she gave me an old President’s manual she recently received. I went through it and found a hard copy of the Club Outfit info/order form that I want to incorporate into my manual. But it needs to be reviewed by the Club Outfit Chairperson.  It’s in either Excel or Word so I am hoping someone has the original so I don’t have to make a whole new document. So, I handed it off to Grace for review at Class. Later, we went over to pizza and then home to watch tv and then hit the spa before bed.

Monday, March 16th., 2026…… The weather is amazing. Temps in the high 60s!  Yeah! Rylee is doing well and her stitches look great, just a little redness remaining!

Rylee is still not allowed to be out on walks – until we take her in on Thurs. for her checkup. So, we just let them out to walk the yard and do their business. Later in the day, I got a call from the hospital saying my check-in time tomorrow would be 10:30am.

Tuesday, March 17th., 2026…… HAPPY ST. PATRICK’s DAY! We hung around the house until it was time to head over to the hospital. I got in and then waited….and waited….. Turns out they didn’t have both procedures on the agenda for me. The doctor came in and said no problem, he would switch the order. But that meant I had to lay there for 3 ½ hours before they took me back. The procedures only took about 45 minutes. They had me in recovery and out of there a little after 4:00pm. Results pending. But he did speak to Cathye and said he was 100% certain there was cancer on the bladder. But, he also said he removed it. Next step will be to see the results officially and see next steps. Plus the prostate results need to come back too. I left there with a catheter, something I have never had in my life! I did not like it!  The insert they put in was the size of a straw! Here’s a pic what it looks like (sorry if it's too gross for ya!)….

I only have to have it in until Thursday, thank God! Cathye drove me home and I relaxed for the rest of the day. After watching some tv, I headed off to bed. I have meds for what they call bladder spasms, which really hurt! But, when I can settle down from them, I could sleep and actually had a great night!

Wednesday, March 18th., 2026…… Tonight would be our Club meeting. I have been prepping the Procedure Manual and have it ready for ratification tonight. I would find out later that I wasn’t ready to go out. So, I gave Cat instructions on what to say and how to present it. When she got back, she said it was kind of a mess. The committee went through it during the meeting and actually wanted more changes! But they agreed to ratify it when I made those later. So at least we are done with that!

Thursday, March 19th., 2026…… Today we took Rylee in for her checkup. Or really, Cat did. I helped get Rylee out of the car and she took her in. I still have the drain bag hanging so it wasn’t the best thing to go in there. She came back out and said they told her Rylee is on a good path, right where she needs to be. We had time to drop her off and then head out to the urologist in Albany. The surgeon popped in and said the results weren’t back yet and he'd call me later when they were. Meanwhile, the nurse removed the catheter and I was on my way. What a relief!  Like I said, this thing is like a straw and was really hurting me! but I wanted to look at it and take the pic above before they took it away!  I will still have some discomfort from the insertion and some bleeding, and I will need to pound water for the next few days, but hopefully it will lessen in time. We stopped for lunch at Kristi’s and then went to Walmart for a few things.

Friday, March 20th., 2026……  Still having issues with the bleeding. I’m not sure if it’s in the urethra or in the bladder. My notes say some leakage is normal. Still, I would like it to stop. So, all that said, we are kinda grounded. I am anyway. But Cat will stay with me. We spent the day just lounging and watching tv. Of course, I am still drinking a ton of water so I am going back and forth to the bathroom all hours. Later, I got a call from the urologist. I had already seen my test results from the biopsy, so I wasn’t surprised as to what he told us. He said both the bladder and the prostate had cancer cells. He went on to explain that when he did the biopsy, he scraped (?) and removed the cancer from the bladder and said he is really, really confident that he got it all. But we can talk about going in again with another procedure to check down the road. Then it would most likely be oral chemo to address that. He said it is officially at a stage 1 right now. As far as the prostate is concerned, he said that is stage 1-2 and would likely be treated with once-a-day-for-6-8-week radiation. After the call, I got an appointment call back for the Mar. 30th. consult.  So, all in all, not so bad news for now….

We thought about going to a plus dance tonight (for me) but I wasn’t ready for that right now, so we stuck around the house for the remainder of the evening. I am still very sore from the catheter and still have some blood coming out and I want to take it easy for now.

Saturday, March 21st., 2026…… Another lazy day. We had talked about driving up to Salem to go to the Home Show at the fairgrounds. But, after breakfast and resting – and still having bleeding issues, - I thought I should take it easy going today. So, we stayed at home for the day. Later, I gave it some thought and decided to go to the Club dance. I chose not to dress so I went in shorts and signed in as a non-dancer. Cathye danced several tips and I visited. She had already made the announcement at the board meeting and updated everyone as my diagnosis and status, so I got a lot of attention tonight. Not what I wanted but, hey, they are friends and they are concerned so that’s ok!  We had a few members bring some of their donated items for the yard sale and we transferred those to our car, but no worries, that was easy. Later, we left a bit early and came home to rest and enjoy some tv until bed. Quite a busy week!

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #10 – More Time With Helping Rylee Heal!

Sunday, March 8th., 2026…… Rylee is doing much better today. Yes, she is still lethargic and the drugs we give her both morning and evening are causing that. Also, her appetite is down right now. But she seems to be getting along a little better now. We are still keeping her down most of the time.

But that’s hard sometimes! Back when she had the injury, she learned to get around favoring that leg. Still holds true now so she thinks she can go wherever she wants!  But I can get her to lay down on her bed in our room now and I leave the slider open a crack. That really helps her cool off and she will stay there all night. So, Cathye can sleep in our bad again!

We spent the day hanging around the house. Until I left to go to class. I had the cash box to return and turns out they needed another guy so I helped out all evening. Passed on the afterparty though so I could come back home to help Cat out with Rylee.

Monday, March 9th., 2026…… Not a great night’s sleep for me. Not sure why. Maybe the time change. Maybe Rylee. I don’t know. Plus she got me up early and I’ll have to deal with that all day. Cat said she slept well. Because of having to have someone here all the time, we passed on the gym and breakfast out. Later, Cat headed off to Albany to run two errands. She stopped first and picked up her glasses and then headed over to Costco to do some light shopping. Yeah, over $200.00!  Later, we would decide not to go to Cat’s Plus class. As I said before, she is very nervous/anxious being there so we will drop out for now. I think she wants to wait for Shaun to do his own class and he’s a lot easier to learn from. We’ll see.

Tuesday, March 10th., 2026…… Rylee is way better as days go by. She’s almost got her appetite back. We have to give her her meds with velveeta cheese so now she expects that and doesn’t want her dinner.. We’re keeping an eye on her bandage. The top section is loose so Cat tried adding an additional bandage. We’ll have to see how that goes. But she is doing well in getting around although we are trying to keep her down as much as we can. The meds help a little for that but she still wants to wander all around the house. Later, Cat got a call from the lady in charge of Sherry’s estate sale. That is where we found the couch and recliner we are wanting to buy. She said that Sherry wanted us to have it and to give us a good price. So they called early and asked if we wanted it and could we get it before the sale on Friday. We made arrangements to get it tomorrow.

Wednesday, March 11th., 2026…… Today we are going to get the couch. We had Penny come over to keep an eye on Rylee and we went out to talk to the estate folks. We made the deal and they helped us load the couch and recliner in my truck. Cat had driven the car over so we could load the backrests and that was pretty much necessary because we had no room!  We had already arranged for Justin to come help unload it - and he brought a friend - so that worked out for my back!  Plus he is taking our old couch and recliner. For now, we are keeping the loveseat and my recliner.  Since the new sofa is a La-Z-Boy, we most likely will be ordering a recliner for me that will match the style and fabric. But for now, we will just get armchair covers for everything so it will tie together. They will come in the next week or so. We also ordered a table that folds out into a ramp for Jama to use to get up and down. We just have to get her used to it now.

Thursday, March 12th., 2026…… Today was massages and a play. I had bought us tickets to go see Frozen, which is done by the West Albany High School drama class. It was very well done. I remembered going to see 7 Brides for 7 Brothers a few years ago. At that time, it was held in the cafeteria and was low budget. Well, since then, the school now has a new performing arts center and it’s one of the nicest we have ever seen! Anyway, the production was first class and the acting was really on point. There were kids in the audience dressed up as Elsa. They really enjoyed the show!

We had left Rylee alone for the first time, so we quickly headed back home soon after. She was good to go!

Later, Cathye posted our night on Facebook. She got several comments back saying that at first glance, the people in the background in our selfie made it look like she had braids!

Friday, March 13th., 2026……   This morning we woke up and got going. We discovered that Rylee’s bandage was coming loose! We tried taping it but that didn’t work. We also tried wrapping it with an ace (type) bandage. No luck. I called the vet’s office and they asked me to send pics, which I did. She called back to say the doctor told her that was entirely normal and it’s doing what it’s supposed to. It will probably last another day or two. So, no worries.

We also got a block text from our neighbor showing us a video of a bobcat they captured on their critter cam last night!

We will need to make sure one of us is always outside with Jama!

Saturday, March 14th., 2026…… Pretty laid back Saturday. We had nothing on the agenda today, so we just relaxed for most of the day.  Cathye decided to go to Wilco this morning to take their class about raised beds, and how to get them out of hibernation. She got back and said she learned a lot!  Later, we were both relaxing when we heard this loud BOOM! We were warned a few days before that our neighbors would be shooting off a gun of some kind. It was their recently married daughter’s way of announcing their gender reveal to their guests. It took a few seconds for us to realize what it was. We went out to the front porch in time to see the smoke rising from the ‘cannon’ that they fired!  We didn’t catch any color but later Corie texted that it was ‘Blue’. Of course Rylee and Jama didn’t care what it was! They were terrified!  After dinner, we decided to head over to Sweet Home to the Squarenader’s dance. Most of our Club as well as the other the local clubs went over to the coast for another club’s beach retreat – we had to stay back with Rylee – so we decided to go support this other club. Shaun, our caller, who was on the coast calling that dance on Friday night, had a contract to call in Sweet Home on Saturday and we decided to go dance to him. Naturally, it was a pretty small dance. They had barely two squares and 1 ½ of those were from our Club. We left about 15 minutes early and got home to check on Rylee. She is doing well and is pretty much back to normal. She limps when she first gets up but then seems to be doing fine after that. She wants so bad to get up on our bed when we sleep but she hasn’t got the strength for that yet – plus we aren’t allowing her to even think about it!  That was our week. Next week (on Tues.) I have my biopsy so I am off my blood thinners for a few days.

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #9 – Cleaning House, Medical for Rylee and Me, & Cathye is our Caregiver!

Sunday, March 1st., 2026…… Slept in this morning.  Yep, we have rain again!  Cathye was able to walk the dogs before it came though. Meanwhile, it hit me while I was out getting us breakfast and coffee. So, no netting this morning!  We would spend the day inside. Until later, when we headed over to our beginner’s class. I am hoping to get the remainder of my procedure document edits back from my team tonight. I did get one back and will put those edits into the master document tomorrow.

After class, we went to the afterparty. We are now back at our old favorite – Pizza Hut! I guess last week someone called and they said come in. And they talked with management and they said they will have staff on hand for us for the next 6 Sundays! Yaay!

I had some time to do some research on Rylee's upcoming surgery...

Monday, March 2nd., 2026…… Today are labs prior to my upcoming biopsy. I went early so I could get results back quickly. They did blood and urine and I asked that they forward the results back to urology asap with a request to provide any prescriptions (antibiotics?) that might be needed asap. It was a zoo this morning!  They said Mondays always are! Meanwhile, Cathye has the housekeeper coming today. This will be a one-time deep cleaning. But we may continue to use her depending on price adjustments for weekly or monthly. So, that said. We kind of side-stepped her for most of the morning and afternoon. I worked in my office and Cathye in hers. She doesn’t mind working around the dogs. Penny came by to drop off some stuff for the yard sale and say hi to Stephanie. Later, when everyone was gone, we were able to relax and settle in for the rest of the day. Cathye got a call from Lona asking her to come help her get her new (to her) motorhome into a storage unit. Turns out they didn’t move it today, some issues with costs. So, she went to lunch and brought me back a patty melt. Later, we headed off to Cat’s Plus class. It didn’t go very well. There are a lot of ‘angels’ on the floor who really are brash and condescending with the newer dancers. Cathye does not do well with those people. She says she’s done!  So, this may have been our last class. More to follow….

When we got back home, we settled in and watched our tv programs. I did get my lab results back and – from my experience – didn’t see too much difference from last years. Guess that’s good.

Tuesday, March 3rd., 2026…… Stephanie was going to come back today because she didn’t have enough time to get everything done yesterday. I needed to make a run to Lowes to stock up on rock salt bags. Later, I went out to get us a couple of burritos for lunch. As a matter of fact, we had them for dinner too. I did get a response from my urology doctor on  MyChart saying there was no uti detected, so that’s good. Tv, spa and bed.

Wednesday, March 4th., 2026…… Today Cathye had a luncheon with Judy. I stayed home and rested. Later, we went out and worked on the netting around the blueberries. We got only into it about 5 minutes before it started raining. So that was it for the day. Tv and bed.

Thursday, March 5th., 2026…… Big day for both Rylee and me!  We dropped her off at the vet’s office for her surgery.  She is getting her TPLO surgery. I looked up the definition: TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) is surgery for dogs and is a common and highly effective orthopedic procedure used to stabilize the knee joint after a cranial cruciate ligament tear.  After that, we came home for a bit before I had to head over to Corvallis for my 1st of two sessions stress test. They had me in the prep room for a radioactive dye injection and then into a machine for 20 minutes of imaging. I completed that and left for home. I actually met up with Cat at the vet to help get Ryle home. They had called earlier and said the surgery went well and she did fine. No problems.  They said we could go pick her up any time before 5:00pm. We got her in the house and on her bed. She was pretty much out of it for the rest of the evening. We took some pics before she let go and went to sleep for a bit.

For the next several days, we will have to assist her with a towel under her belly to help cradle her legs to help her so she doesn’t put too much weight on her leg. Later, when it was time for bed, we couldn’t figure out what to do to make her comfortable and make sure she didn’t move around too much. She’s never been a crate dog, plus we don’t even have one, so we decided to leash her next to the couch, where she could either sleep on her bed or on the carpet. I started out in bed but I could hear her moving around and I went in to sleep in my chair. Cat came out later and got on the couch and told me to go to bed. We would do that for the next two nights.

Friday, March 6th., 2026……   She had a very restless night. We were up a few times to help her out to pee. Hope tonight is better…

I was up super early to shower and leave for my 7:15am check-in for the 2nd half of my stress test. I got checked in and they gave me the same pick line but this time they took me up to the cardio testing floor and put me on a table. They hooked up the sticky electrodes to my arms and chest. I chose the non-treadmill test this time. So, for that, they give you an injection of dobutamine to make your heart work harder. They stopped it pretty quickly because it didn’t get my heart rate up to where it needed to be to get a good reading. But they did say what they got looked really good. Later, I would get a call from my cardiac doctor’s office telling me the results looked good and we would go from there maybe for another test in the near future. This time I will choose the treadmill. After all, I use one twice a week in the gym and do at least ½ a mile each time. I was told I wouldn’t have to run so I’ll be good.

When I got back home, Rylee was still kind of out of it. She wants to walk on her leg and already has learned to work with the three good legs so we are letting her do a little but we are watching her closely. Later, we took her out to pee but she insisted in laying out in the flowerbed. We couldn't leave her there too long because we were worried her shaved area would get sunburned! But the time out there was good for her!

Saturday, March 7th., 2026…… We were up early with our patient! She is looking a tiny bit better. I think she may be having some pain but we have her on meds twice a day for that. She just doesn’t have that much energy either. We will continue to help her when she moves around the house and needs to go out. She gets a bag of corn on her leg to help with swelling. Her leg is darkening but that’s what it says is expected after 1-2 days. Phew!  Time will help with everything. Later, we went out to work a bit on the netting. I had some breathing issues plus needed a protein drink, so we quit early.  Later, we decided that I would be the one to go to the dance tonight. Months ago. we had signed up for door duty and Cathye said I was better at taking money and giving change than she was. So I dressed and went. It was a smaller dance and I was able to do the money (and the 50/50 tickets) by myself with no issues. After I closed down the table, I turned over the numbers to the President and then took the money box home. As per the treasurer, I will take it back tomorrow night to give to her at the beginner’s class. I came home and we settled in to watch tv for the rest of the night. I took Rylee in to her bed in our room and opened the slider a bit and that was the key!  She stayed there with the evening breezes on her and slept through the night!  We all got a great night’s sleep!

Oregon Living 2026 – Blog #8 – Dealing With Stomach Bug, Seeing a Movie, & Working on Blueberries

Sunday, February 22nd., 2026…… We slept in today. We had nothing on the agenda until class late this afternoon. Penny called to let us know that we could go over to her friend’s house today to look at a couch she’s selling. This will be an estate sale and the couch is listed so we can’t just go and buy it from the owner. But, that’s ok. If we like it, and if it gets priced right, we can go early and buy it first thing. But that won’t happen until mid-March. We picked up Penny and drove out to her place. We liked the couch and recliner so we will try to get it – again, if the price is right!  Later, Cathye stayed home to relax while I went off to class. I wasn’t treated exactly warmly by that one person I mentioned who had to stay last night to close up!  Oh well! So, I stayed until almost the end and then left too!  If she wasn’t talking to me then, wait until next time I see her!  But all is well because they had a ton of folks to clean the tables and chairs and sweep the floors. I came home and we watched the closing ceremonies that we had taped earlier.

Monday, February 23rd., 2026…… Cathye had Penny duty this morning, so we decided to skip the gym, go to breakfast in two cars so Cat could just go pick her up for her Drs. appointment. I came back home and worked on my blog and paid some bills. Nothing else on the list today so I was able to catch up on my races from the weekend while Cat relaxed with the pups. We had some more Club members drop off items for the yard sale in April. I think we're getting there!

Later in the afternoon, I wasn’t feeling all that well. I wasn’t sure if it was breakfast or something else, but it didn’t get any better! I ended up going to bed in the late afternoon. I felt sick to my stomach but didn’t throw up. It was a tough night! Next morning I felt a bit better. I knew I needed to drink a lot of water because my urine was really dark.  But I was ok to be home by myself, so Cat left with Mo & Toni to go to her Plus class tonight. She got back as soon as she could and saw I was doing ok, so we watched a little tv.  But I was pretty sure I needed more rest so I decided to go to bed early again.

Tuesday, February 24th., 2026……   Another open day. We would like to do stuff but the weather is still damp and dreary. We’ve had rains for the past week but the forecast is rain but just for today and tomorrow, then it’s supposed to clear up and warm up a bit for the rest of the week. We still need to get the netting up around the blueberries as well as clean up some of the flower beds. But for now, we wait. Besides, I am still trying to get over this bug whatever it is.

Wednesday, February 25th., 2026…… This morning I was up and going early. I still didn’t feel 100% but I needed to make my 8:15am appointment for my CT scan. Cathye slept in then took care of walking and feeding the dogs. After the 10-minute check-in process, the scan only took three minutes and I was back home in another 10. Later, we left to go get our haircuts. Then, I was done for the day and was able to rest and try to get over whatever I had. So far, Cathye is feeling fine. But, she didn’t eat the same thing I did on Monday!  Later, she left with her girlfriends to go see I Can Only Imagine 2.

I had no desire to see it and when she got home, she said I wouldn’t have liked it. She said she cried throughout the whole movie!

Thursday, February 26th., 2026…… I’m feeling much better today! I still have darkened urine though. I left to go get Sis to take her to her shoulder surgeon follow-up appointment  in Corvallis. While she was in there, I drove down to the Corvallis Verizon store to look into the cost of upgrading our 6-yr old phones. I had already talked to the satellite store here in town but wanted to see what the mother store could do. Same deal. Anyway, I headed back to the hospital and picked Penny up. We went to Pastini’s for Italian, then back home.  I rested for a while, then we decided to take advantage of the sunny weather expected for the next few days  Cathye has a guy coming over to give us a bid on resurfacing the bartop. Remember back when I tried to epoxy coat it? Yeah, that was a while back and I’m still not comfortable with trying it again. Anyway, she called a pro and he came out to look at it and gave us a $1700.bid. He wants one of the floor radios so that will knock off $300. So that’s good. He can’t get to it until May timeframe though. We walked the blueberry cage area and looked into what we will need to get that border installed. I think we can do it I an hour or so, and now a time is as good as any, so I went and gathered up my tools and we set out to install those boards. We got it 90% done and came in for the day.

Friday, February 27th., 2026……  Another sunny day!  We were only walking Rylee down the driveway but this morning both she and Jama kept going!  We ended up doing the normal walk and Rylee did really well. After that, I went out and finished the rest of the wood border. I think it will work for us now when we mow out there.

All that remains is to reinstall the netting. Maybe tomorrow.

Saturday, February 28th., 2026…… Still have darkened pee and this could be a result of the stomach issues, but I’m pretty sure that this will be found to be a side effect of the bladder cancer. But, of course we are still waiting for the biopsy to confirm (my) suspicions. I do labs on Monday, including a urine analysis. Cathye had to get up early because she volunteered to go help a couple other Club members cut up several flats of strawberries one of the members found yesterday. She would tell me later that they got them from a produce truck that had come up from somewhere in California and set up here in town. They were priced really well so they bought a bunch of them. Cathye even came back with two flats – one for Cheryl. Meanwhile, I headed over at 10:00am to Sis’s house to help her change out a tv in her bedroom. Believe it or not, she wants a smaller tv in there! Go figure!  I guess it’s a guy thing! Cathye met us there and we also had help from a past neighbor who came by. We got it done and came back and we were done for the day. We had thought about going over to Corvallis for their dance tonight but decided to just stay home and relax. Tv, spa, then bed.
