Sunday, March 29th., 2026…… Today was a great day! I am feeling much better! Still some serious pain to pee but it’s been
lesser and lesser these past few days. We hung around the house because we had
a telehealth screening scheduled for today with our health care provider. They
cancelled and haven’t rescheduled yet. I
went out and got us breakfast and coffee and then later, went to work on the
pipes. I had bought the yard hydrant
and today I wanted to get it installed. I had to dig through and remove the pea gravel to get to the elbow for removal. Then it was just a matter of unscrewing the old one and carefully threading the new one in without getting debris in the line. It went rather easily and then it was on to the blueberry line. That one is pvc so I had to saw the old one off and then put the replacement assembly on and glue in place. I will have to wait until tomorrow before I can turn the water on. But, they both went well. I am still struggling in getting the shower door sweep installed where it won’t leak. The new one isn’t sealing so I still have some work to do on that job. Later, after dinner, we wen off to the beginner’s class. It was disappointing as most of the class wasn’t there. Not sure why!
Monday, March 30th., 2026…… Today was my urologist
appointment. It was reassuring to know I have “favorable intermediate risk”
prostate cancer. We discussed all of the options and I chose radiation and
androgen deprivation. My decipher score will evaluate the biology of my tumor
and he will most likely have to proceed with a testosterone blocker for 6
months. That stops any subsequent tumor growth. Then I get fiducial markers - in
reality that is a block to stop any
radiation from going past the prostate. Then radiation for 5 days a week for 6-8
weeks. For the bladder, he says it is non-muscle invasive (more or less on the
outside) and he is recommending that he go back in in 4-6 weeks to do another
resection to ensure there is no additional tumor present. If that is the case,
I will go on a schedule of 6 bladder treatments of weekly chemotherapy. More on
that to come. So, all in all, it was pretty much what we anticipated. I am not
looking forward to any more catheters but that is something I have to face in
the weeks to come!
After we left, we stopped by
Arby’s for lunch then came back home. Cat headed off to Walmart because she
needs to get stuff for Easter. Last night she heard back that Corey and Vikki
and family will be here all day for Easter. She wants to get things for dinner
plus items for the kids.
Tuesday, March 31st., 2026…… On top of everything else, I have
my annual physical scheduled for today!
I have to lot to share now, but hopefully that will go ok.
Ok, it’s later now… I got back
from seeing Sally. We had a long talk about what I have going these days, but
nothing major on anything else so far. Later, I got a few calls from hospitals
and labs getting scheduling going for tests and draws. Nothing else on the
agenda for the rest of the day.
Wednesday, April 1st., 2026…… Rain this morning. But we took
the girls out anyway and dried them before coming back in the house. After we fed
them, we decided to go over to Sweet Home for breakfast. They opened a new
diner there called Taylor Made and we wanted to try it out. I must say we have
mixed feelings. The coffee was amazing! The young man serving us not so much.
He seemed to not have any idea of priority as he helped others who came in
after us. Even took to go orders at the counter before ours! I asked for my
omelette to be a ‘light cook’ and what I got was on the border of crusty! When
we didn’t get a check or any other service, I went to the front counter and the
owner came up to assist me. Well, when she asked if everything was ok, I was
polite, but unloaded that my meal was inedible! Cat loved her omelette. She got
the chef (another young man) up front and he admitted that he thought it was
overcooked and almost didn’t want to serve it. I said “then you shouldn’t have!”
The owner immediately took my meal off the bill and we left with a good
attitude. They are a new place and she’s training everyone! So, we will be
going back again – but maybe in a few weeks or more so they can get it
together! We got back home and stayed in
because of the rain. Tomorrow I am scheduled to ride up with Frank to Dallas
(OR) to go see my friend, Paul, to pick up a truck load of yard sale items he
has for us. Weather is iffy so I hope we get lucky tomorrow! Later, we ate dinner
and settled in for tv. Later, we hit the spa and then called it for the night
Thursday, April 2nd., 2026…… Frank came over and picked me up and we drove the 50 miles to Dallas and
met up with Paul at Tater’s Café for breakfast. After that, we followed him
over to his place and got to work. Paul has decided to not decorate for
Christmas, so most of his donations were Christmas- related. We did get a train
set, a lawnmower, a paint sprayer, and a miter saw table which will all do well
at the sale. But the big ticket items(s) are 5 ft. tall Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
We loaded up everything in Frank’s
truck and headed back home. We did encounter a couple of thundershowers but
everything was either crated up or boxed so we had no damage when we got home. After Frank left, I researched on eBay and was
rather shocked to find what the Claus figures are worth! Wow!
Friday, April 3rd., 2026…… The weather is getting better now. We are supposed to get several days
in a row with temps in the 70s! Looks like records are gonna be broken! With
the weather so nice, we are working outside again. Cathye cleaned up her flower
beds and I hauled the brush out to the burnpile. Pretty easy day though. We
spent the rest of it hanging around the house. Rylee is doing better and wants
to run and play, especially in the mornings. She tries zoomies until we stop
her! We give her trazadone to keep her calm and that helps. But, in the
afternoon, she starts limping so we know she’s still in recovery. Later, Cat
took off for her annual mammogram. When she got back, she said it went well.
Not too much pain!
Saturday, April 4th., 2026…… Penny is our biggest advocate for
the Club yard sale! She has been
bringing over a lot of little items now and then and the pile is growing. But,
this morning, she has a front door for me to go pick up. One of her friends has
replaced theirs and wanted to get rid of the old one. We drove over in my truck
and the door was ready. It’s solid oak with a stained glass insert and is
really heavy. The guy helped me load it and they followed us back to help
unload it. Whew! Thanks for that! I think it will sell pretty quickly at the
sale so that’s a great find! Later, we headed off to our hippie dance. Cathye
dressed for it but I toned it down. Here is last year’s pic.
The wig I usually wear is really hot so I chose to just wear the shirt. At the dance, we saw that our friend, Mark, had made a poster of four of us from last year. It came out awesome!
Tonight, they had awards for the best costumes. This time Cathye won!
winners this is Mark, who designed and made the poster
After the dance, we cleaned up and
headed home for the night. Cat has been prepping for our Easter Sunday party and,
even though she has a lot done already, tomorrow will be a busy day!
