Sunday, April 5th., 2026…… HAPPY EASTER!!! We were up early because we were heading off
to Easter service. This time we chose to go to Penny’s new church. It is right
up the road from our house, so that was nice!
The service was good and we even saw friends from our Club. We got out
quickly because we had things to do. But Cat got her tasks completed and we we
ready when the family came over. The littles are getting so big! Caroline is just about ready to walk on her
own. Creed is still happy to jet across the floor to get where he wants to go.
I believe that the next time we see them, they will be hard to catch! It was a
fun day. The older kids had their egg hunt out on the porch. Penny was here for
the day too. Later, we had a nice ham dinner. Everything was great! Here are
pics from the day.
Monday, April 6th., 2026…… Both of us were a little sore this morning. I think it was from all that activity with the kids yesterday! But, we hit the gym anyway and I think that helped loosen us up for the day. We found Kevin’s was closed today so we had to go to Albany to Elmer’s for their German pancakes! Yummy, when we got back, I started on cleaning up the woodpile. I had moved everything away from the shop garage back when they were painting, so it all had to go back. Plus, that would free up the boat! I have current tags and we are ready to clean it up and charge the battery and take it out. Now I can do that! We also had some people bring more yard sale stuff. Pointe Pest Control was also here today for their quarterly service. He was in and out in no time. Great service and highly recommended. Later, we rested and ate leftovers and settled in for tv and then the spa before bed.
Tuesday, April 7th., 2026…… Nothing on the agenda for today
but I wanted to work on the patio furniture. We moved it into a different
configuration this time but the back of the couch is very close to the edge of
the deck. I designed and built a block to clamp on to the deckboards so the
couch was now stable. Easy fix. I also want to run an extension cord under the deck
to plug in the towel warmer for the spa. Currently, it runs around the deck in
the flowerbed. I will need to think this one out though because the deckboards
are really tight and I can’t just shove a pipe under them from one end to the
other. I’m working on a device to feed the line down and under each joint –
just need to get that organized. Also, working on a new string trimmer line. I
am so tired of having to fix the feed line coming out from my Dewalt trimmer!
They have so many wire-based units to retrofit so I need to research what will
fit my trimmer.
Wednesday, April 8th., 2026…… This morning we walked the girls and fed them then ate breakfast and grabbed coffee for the drive over to Costco in Albany. Cat had her appointment for her hearing test. I shopped for a few things while she was getting tested. She texted me to co0me see the test device, which is what she ordered (only it will be in a bronze color which matches her hair better).
It will take a few weeks for them to make them. When we got
back home, we did some laundry and then rested for a bit before dinner and tv
for the night.
Thursday, April 9th., 2026…… We both had haircuts this morning and went to Kristi’s for breakfast then
off to get those done. Later, we both have massages, but I wanted to get the
mowers prepped for later today. The weather is changing and we want to get the
lawn mowed before it rains! I also worked on my string trimmer and did the area around the blueberry cage. I had everything ready and then headed off to my
appointment. When I left, Cat was just coming in for her appointment. When I
got home, I started in. Penny came over and did the field while I started on my
normal area. Cat wasn’t back yet, so I did the front and back lawns. We were cleaning
up the mowers just as she got home. Great timing Dear! 👏😍 I went in and we ate the
dinner (teriyaki) that she had brought back and we were in for the day.
Friday, April 10th., 2026…… This morning we had to get Rylee in for her grooming. We made sure to
help her in and out of the car and told them to be very careful getting her on
and off their table. More and more yard sale
stuff keeps coming in from our dancer friends and Penny. We have the rv garage
wall full to the max and more stuff is now in the shop garage as well. More
folks say they will bring their items next Wednesday when they come to help set
up and price everything. Mike came by with his tractor to move our gas tank,
which is going to be out for the sale. But it was behind the shop and I need it
out where folks can see it and it will be easier to load on a truck or trailer
if/when sold.
Later, Cathye had a meeting with a
new potential landscaper, who she says is now coming next week to weed the
front yard and around the house. If she likes their work that will be phase one
of two or three for the entire yard. He was only here for a few minutes and we
got back in the house before the rains hit. The sky was black heading from the
south and when it hit – it hit! It was
super windy as well and the rain came in sideways and soaked the deck furniture.
We had to scramble to move the pads out of the wind and rain before they got a
soaking or blew away!
Saturday, April 11th., 2026…… The rains are still on and off
for today. We plan to go up to Salem tonight for a Club visitation, so I hope
we get a break by then.
Ok, it’s later now. No break in
the rain but we stopped and picked up Toni and Moe and headed up anyway. The
dance was well attended and we had a great time. We did leave early because Mo
and Toni kennel their dogs when gone and they have a puppy who gets a little
nervous when left alone too long. We got
back and relaxed and settled down to tv before calling it a night.
